Gah! - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Gah! This dungeon crawler roguelite game is a game you will want to keep playing out of achievement or out of spite. Gah! was developed and published by Jasio Games and is set to release in September 2024.  Gameplay There are 6 playable characters three of which you will have to unlock. So you'll start with the choice of Sorcerer, King, or Rouge. The sorcerer can only use light armor and staves, the king can use anything, and the rouge can use light armor and bows.  You start with a basic weapon, it's by chance or by buying in town you'll get new armor or weapons. As you level up you'll get the choice between 3 stats and two skills. The skills are random so sometimes you might get the things you want while sometimes you might not get anything you would use. You can also pick something that you already used to level it up further. If of course, it's one of the choices. The stats are intelligence, endurance, and strength.  You have 4 skill buttons

Factory Outlet Simulator - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Factory Outlet Simulator Very similar to a lot of the games I've been playing recently this is a simulator game. In this one you not only make but you also run a shop to sell the times. Factory Outlet Simulator came out in July of this year and was developed and published by PISHO.   Gameplay With Factory Outlet Simulator or FOS as we'll call it from now on. It starts you off by making your shop sign name and buying some beginning items. A factory machine is for making your products, a shelf to sell your products, and then the materials to make the products.  Making your products before selling them was an interesting concept and the time continues. You can choose to skip the night but why when that time can be utilized to make more products? I guess it would be beneficial if you need more money. The good thing is when completing tasks your time for those tasks doesn't go down if you skip through the day.  What kind of tasks do you ask? Well not only do

Clothing Store Simulator - Casual Game Review

Image
Clothing Store Simulator - Casual Game Review This game is what it sounds like, you run a clothing store. It was developed and published by Kiki Games. This game was given to me by a program called Keymailer, so thank you devs for the game!  Gameplay You start off with a small almost empty shop. There is a computer to order things from and a cash register. It will be your job to buy displays and clothing. There are clothing racks, shelves, plants, manikins, changing rooms, and a few other things. As you level up in the game you unlock more things. This includes employees, bigger spaces, items, brand deals, and whatnot.  Your first brand deal includes three articles of clothing. There is a range of clothes, shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, coats, bodysuits, hats, shoes, and shorts. Like mentioned before as you level you will be able to buy new brand deals. This also includes personal deals. You can create your own clothing and sell it. In men's clothing, you can m

Pet Shop Simulator - Casual Game Review

Image
Pet Shop Simulator  Pet Shop Simulator is well a game where you have a pet shop and run it. It was developed by Games Incubator and published by Games Incubator, and PlayWay S.A. Gameplay This starts off with an empty shop space. You have to start with building a stock room to keep all the goods when the shelves are full. Then make sure you have a checkout and shelves to put items out. The finishing step is getting a rabbit enclosure to sell some pets.   There are a lot of items to choose from, and I noticed that when your reputation goes up there are new items to purchase. Just like the fish enclosure, I didn't have it right away. Speaking of enclosure here are the pets you can sell in your shop; fish, bunnies, mice, turtles, and hampsters There are various kinds of shelving, hanging, small, and large. So of course there are different things that can be displayed on each of them. The products have a wide range. You can get cages and tanks, food and water bowls

Dune Mechanic : Survive The Steampunk Era Prologue - Casual Game Review

Image
Dune Mechanic: Survive The Steampunk Era Prologue Dune Mechanic: Survive The Steampunk Era Prologue is a prologue of course, and is more of a factory builder but has a survival aspect. I don't think you will die if you have no food, but you just can't see. It came out on June 13th, 2024, and was developed by Heaven Brotherhood, and published by TheGamesFortress.   Gameplay You start off crashed, what looks like some kind of stream punk fly machine. Your first task is putting together your first factory machine. This is what will make all the parts for other things you will make. As you follow your task know that some resources are limited so you can't just do whatever you want. In the first playthrough, I ran out of water, with no way to get more, and had to restart.  Back to the factory, the things you need for pretty much each machine are water and wood. There are stick-looking trees all over the place, and a small stash of water in ruins nearby. A cav

Ima Survivor - Casual Game Review

Image
Ima Survivor This game is a super basic survival game. It was developed by Archor Wright and published by Archor Games. Ima Survivor came out on June 11th, 2024 so it's new for sure. It does look like Archor Games has a plethora of games under its umbrella.  Gameplay In this game, you play as Ima Smith who ended up crashing on a random island. You find this information in the Steam store itself because when you start the game you are just left to your own devices.  You start at a campfire, which is pretty cool since normally you would have to start collecting to do your basic builds. There are starfish and crabs just walking around your feet. So I decided to do what any other normal survival game expert would do, and that is to fill my inventory. After that, I complain that I have no room in my bag.  Stamina seems to last forever, but water and food can go down quickly. Once one of those goes down your health starts to go down fast as well.  I started to explore

Hitmen Havoc - Casual Game Review

Image
Hitmen Havoc This is a party shooter with up to 8 players. It was developed by, Andreas O., Marvin Pogoda, Maksim Rotmann, and Richy D. and then published by TangleTech. Right now it's just in its pre-release mode but others can join you if they have the demo. But the lovely devs sent me a key to play with friends. They even have a lovely road map letting you know what's coming up.  Gameplay This game was incredibly fun, we had a total of 6 people playing and for the spaces you do not fill you can also choose to fill with bots.  There are fun hats you can equip but in this pre-release version, you can't unlock the achievements to get more hats.  Each character has different stats to it between their speed and health. So picking the right character for you can't just be done based on looks.  There is a locked skills tab, so I'm wondering if we're going to get fireballs, or passives as well.  Maps There are a lot of various maps with different

Robin Hood - Sherwood Builders - Casual Game Review

Image
Robin Hood - Sherwood Builders Sherwood Builders is an action-adventure community builder, survival all rolled into one.  It was developed by MeanAstronauts and published by PlayWay S.A.  Background You are in the classic story of Robin Hood, while of course, you are Robin Hood. It's your job to liberate the people. You can do this by increasing your repetition in each area of the map. There are 4 different areas you need to turn over to your favor. You can do this by raiding caravans, attacking camps, and doing quests.  Venturing out you have to collect resources for your main town. Wood, stone, hide, and other items. Building up new buildings and houses. Each building gives you a station to craft new things as well as other things. So it's something to focus on. Being able to craft new armor, medicines, and weapons will be helpful in your adventures.  There are a lot of puzzle-type areas on the map. I had to direct lights to open a gate and mess with symbo

Planet Crafter - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Planet Crafters This game I had put off from doing a review until I beat it.  Planet Crafters was developed and published by Miju Games. Planet Crafters is a survival world-building game.  The game has recently been updated to add a new biome, crash sites, and more! Basics You basically start on a desert planet that multiple people were sent to cultivate. It seems like you did some kind of crime and your sentence was to make this planet habitable to where they can steal the resources and use it kind of thing. You in the hopes to seeing your family again have to persevere through the trials of building a whole new world. (I think my dumb self was too busy during stream talking to pay attention in the beginning. I got distracted) You start off in your pod, where it's the only place to be able to refill your oxygen meter. You do have a few capsules with you to use, but have limited bag space. There is a crafter in the drop pod, and there is also a storage box with

Winter Survival - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Winter survival Winter Survival was released on March 6th, 2024 it was developed by DRAGO entertainment and published by DRAGO entertainment, and HeartBeat Games. Thank you for the key devs! I got it through a program called Keymailer.  When playing this game one of my viewers suggested that it looked like someone took the forest and mixed it with the long dark and I could not help but agree with that. This is a survival game, where you leave your pregnant wife at home to go take a quick adventure with a few of your buddies. A few things happen and after getting chased by bears and wolves you are trying to find your friends and get the heck out of there. There is an option of doing a tutorial before the game which I felt was an interesting concept of how they had it set up. It was a dark room with a variety of signs, each sign teaching you a different concept of the game. As I have played many survival games before I just went to view the various mechanics of the g

Palworld - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Palworld This game was developed and published by PocketPair.  Think of taking a community builder like Tribes: Primal Builder, a catch and battle game like Pokemon, and a survival game like Ark and merging them all into one.  This game is hot right now with lots of both positive and negative vibes. The Steam charts show how loved the game is, while Pokemon Fanboys are going nuts with copyright claims. (Where were you guys when someone made a Pokemon Minecraft mod Pixelmon though?) Of course with all the claims people are comparing shapes, colors, and animals with each other. I have even seen memes comparing Monster Rancher to Pokemon, while others mention Digimon. Come on guys everyone is allowed to make their own ducks, horses, deer, etc. Pokemon don't own all the animals in the world.  Gameplay Now I have been playing on PC myself but one of the people I play with also plays on Xbox. They have done nothing but complain about the bugs and glitches they have e

Taora: Beginning - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Taora: Beginning Taora was developed by Tulpar Games and was published by Tulpar Games and TheGamesFortress. It's an open-world survival community builder. The key was given to me through a program called Keymailer so thank you devs for the key! This version of the game is a demo of the game Taora: Survival. Get it it's the beginning of the game? The Start You start out at a base where the game tells you to grab some tools from storage, right now the only things that are in your base are a storage area, some toilets, and a command center. The storage center is well a small storage area, you later will also be able to make a chest for more organization. The command center is where you can switch between community members and build other stations in the base.  In the storage, you can get a pick axe and an axe. The first task would be to go chop some wood. In the process of that, you'll eventually have to start building the various stations.  Workshop: The

Palia - Casual Game Review

Image
Palia This is a newer free-to-play MMO. It was developed and published by Singularity 6 Corporation.  It's a casual MMO in a sense. You can farm, cook, catch bugs, all with friends. I feel like it's Animal Crossing but with more people and things to do.  You can find this game on both PC and the Nintendo Switch. The best part is it's free!  Tools You have a few tools that will help you in the world, some can not be harvested until you upgrade your tool to a higher level. Makeshift tools don't need to be repaired while higher-level tools do have a durability mechanic to them. So you will have to repair your tools.  Axe - Chops trees  Pick - Mine ores and rocks Bow - Used to hunt animals Fishing rod - Used to fish Watering can - Used to water your crops Hoe - Used to plow to play crops Belt - Used for catching bugs  Crafting There is a wide range of things you can craft, between furniture better tools, and other crafting stations.  Worktable - This is

Enshrouded - Casual Gaming Review

Image
Enshrouded This is an action-adventure survival base-building game. It was developed and published by Keen Games GmbH. This demo key was given to me by the developers of a program called Keymailer. The demo was out for Next Fest. So, thank you for the key! Gameplay You wake up in a capsule inside a temple. You've been asleep for a long time. As you run out you pretty much have nothing, your first task being to make a base.  As you make your way to the waypoint on the map the game goes through basic concepts. Throwables can blow up and change the terrain as well as the other items. I dug myself in a hole at one point.  A lot of things are breakable so once I got something I could swing (a sword) I started to hit everything I could. Which was good because I was getting all sorts of materials.  There is something called well enshrouded, it's an area that is tainted. Having a light with you decreases the rate at which it affects you. But it's pretty much if

Billy BumBum - Casual Game Review

Image
Billy BumBum: A Cheeky Puzzler This game was developed by Frambosa and published by Bonus Stage Publishing. I'm a VIP member of Bonus Stage so thanks for the key guys! Billy BumBum is a puzzle story adventure, a nice game for a casual gamer.  Story You are a cube with a face and a well, bum. You are alone but find your mother which is a giant grunting dragon head? As you progress through the story you find friends and family members that you all link together to form some long kind of dragon with cube bodies that poots along. You can even talk to the cubes you find to learn and hear more from them. Gameplay The game is pretty simple. Your object is to move around until your bum is placed down into a hole. As you move the block doesn't slide but falls to the side that it's facing. So you'll have to figure out how to move to the end space while still being able to place the bum into the end-level hole.  There are multiple blocks that will pose a challe

Vampire Survivors - Recap

Image
From Steam to Xbox The Xbox changed their Gold subscription to Xbox Core or something along those lines. With that, they offer a small 25 mini Game Pass. Among those games was Vampire Survivors A game I played and reviewed when it first came out on Steam. Gameplay This game is a wave game, where your hits are automatic based on the level of the item you have as well as other elements like power-ups you have purchased. There are a wide range of characters you can play with that each have their own abilities and starting weapons. A lot of you have to unlock from using certain items during gameplay. There are also unlockable levels to progress through.  Differences What I found interesting while playing it in couch play mode, was that up to 4 people can join your game with you on the couch.  Leveling A big difference is the leveling.  When you kill monsters sometimes they drop gems, and the gems are experience. Each time you level up you get a choice of a new weapon o

Everdream Valley - Casual Game Review

Image
Everdream Valley It is a farming adventure game where you grow crops, raise animals, and explore the island. Developed by Mooneaters, and published by Untold Tales, and VARSAV Game Studios. This key was given to me by the developers through a program called Lurkit, so thank you so much for the key! Background Like most games, you get left somewhere by your parents. This time Mom drops you off to go help your aging grandparents. Their farm is in disrepair, and they just need some help as they can’t do as much as they used to be able to do. Their chickens need tending, the sheep are lost and the garden needs to be weeded and watered. Tools   There are a wide range of tools. Some you later have to unlock from quest progression. But there is a watering pail to water your plants, a ho to dig more places to plant crops. Shovel to dig out plants to move them, this includes putting a whole tree in your pocket but also digging up on rocks that x marks the spot for clothing
