Pet Shop Simulator - Casual Game Review

Pet Shop Simulator

Pet Shop Simulator is well a game where you have a pet shop and run it. It was developed by Games Incubator and published by Games Incubator, and PlayWay S.A.

Gameplay

This starts off with an empty shop space. You have to start with building a stock room to keep all the goods when the shelves are full. Then make sure you have a checkout and shelves to put items out. The finishing step is getting a rabbit enclosure to sell some pets.

There are a lot of items to choose from, and I noticed that when your reputation goes up there are new items to purchase. Just like the fish enclosure, I didn't have it right away. Speaking of enclosure here are the pets you can sell in your shop; fish, bunnies, mice, turtles, and hampsters

There are various kinds of shelving, hanging, small, and large. So of course there are different things that can be displayed on each of them. The products have a wide range. You can get cages and tanks, food and water bowls, toys, collars, food, treats, medical supplies, soaps, and more. It's pretty much what you want to offer in your shop.

Your store can be expanded for the hefty price of 10k, the same for the parking lot.

You can hire employees, they can do a wide range of tasks. Managing the cash register is one, you also have other skills like stocking the shelves, cleaning, spinning a sign, and providing customer service. They do cost per hour, and each person could have a different wage and specialty. You can also send your employees to get trained in a task, this costs 5k.

Now you do have to watch out for shoplifters. So I ended up getting a ding to my door and a theft detector. you pretty much run up to a person you think stole, accuse them and the police will come. If you accuse the wrong person you'll have to apologize.

Reputation

I mentioned reputation before but there are various things you need to keep up with. One is keeping the place clean including the pets. The pets won't sell if you don't keep them clean and fed. You also have to keep the floors clean. As you can gain reputation you can also lose it. If someone needs something you can ask them what they need and lead them to the item. If you run out of that item or run out of time to ask or take them to the item you will lose reputation. You can also lose some if your lines are too long. If people have to wait, they might just leave the merch on the floor and nope out.

Thoughts

I loved this game, but don't I love every game? (We aren't going to talk about that) There of course are a few things that I did not care for. When you are in build mode you can not rotate. That means if you painted the walls your front walls will not be able to match. This drives me nuts because I don't like the color yellow and I want it gone. This is weird because in the trailer it shows lots of angles to build at. But I pushed like every button and in the trailer there is an extra button shown... It also makes it hard to place some items are the windows get in the way and you end up moving those instead of what you intended. You can zoom in and out but it only helps so much. The cleaners don't seem to clean the animal tanks anything to do with them seems to be on you. I also could only hire cash register people until I reloaded the game.

There aren't a lot of decorations, I'm not sure if they just unlock later with your reputation like some of the items I keep seeing popping up in the buy list or not.
