Evie - Cosplay
Evie
Evie is a playable character in the game Paladins: Champions of the Realm. It's a free-to-play game that you can play on well pretty much anything, Steam, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox. Developed by Hi-Rez Studios, and Evil Mojo Games this was mainly squad-based FPS.
There are a few modes but the one I played the most was team vs team where me and a few buddies would team up and have to defend a cart that would slowly move through the level. Or if you were on the other team destroy the cart. The goal is to either prevent the cart from getting into the goal area or to stop it.
Cosplay Background
Evie was one of the characters I enjoyed not only looks but also the dialogue. Of of my favorites is "I just want to live a normal life, without having to blow everybody up... Oh well!"
The abilities she has were fun to play with but I always screwed it up. She had a basic attack from her ice staff. She could turn into an ice block to become immune to damage for a short time. She could also fly around on her broom. another thing she could do is teleport a short distance and that is where I messed up a lot. Don't teleport in the middle of an attack or outside the play area. Her ultimate is an ice storm that slows and deals damage.
Of course, you could build your character with various cards to fit your playstyle. I can't remember how many cards you could use it has been a while since I played the game.
Making it
This took forever to make, I honestly still have parts that are not done. The accessories are not really done, because I would just take pictures of the top half and never wore it to any conventions. I half-made gloves and realized I suck at making gloves. I also don't have boots, and I stained my leggings.
I know I'm a mess. It's on my list of things to fix and finish. Now that I think of it I wonder if there are any fan-made 3D models of her accessories that I could just print and paint? Well, that is another thing on this to-do list now.
The wig took me forever to style, I did take two wigs and kind of zombie them together to get the right look going. I ended up using Charollette my foam head on a light stand to model it for me while it was being made. A fan while I was playing 7 Days to Die on stream back in the day ended up giving the foam head that name. So then with the collar I not only put foam inside the fabric to make it stiffer but I think I also starched it as well.
Pretty much cosplay is figuring out how anime/video game logic/physics can be turned into something in real life.
