Billy BumBum - Casual Game Review

Billy BumBum: A Cheeky Puzzler

This game was developed by Frambosa and published by Bonus Stage Publishing. I'm a VIP member of Bonus Stage so thanks for the key guys! Billy BumBum is a puzzle story adventure, a nice game for a casual gamer.

Story

You are a cube with a face and a well, bum. You are alone but find your mother which is a giant grunting dragon head? As you progress through the story you find friends and family members that you all link together to form some long kind of dragon with cube bodies that poots along. You can even talk to the cubes you find to learn and hear more from them.

Gameplay

The game is pretty simple. Your object is to move around until your bum is placed down into a hole. As you move the block doesn't slide but falls to the side that it's facing. So you'll have to figure out how to move to the end space while still being able to place the bum into the end-level hole.

There are multiple blocks that will pose a challenge.

Sometimes there will be enemies over blocks that shoot lasers across a section, you will not be able to pass unless your butt is directed towards their eye as you pass. So at that point not only do you have to figure out how to pass in front of those guys with your butt exposed to them but you still have to make sure to pay attention to how you move so that you can finish the level.

There are extra stacked blocks that you can push into a place. Sometimes there is no way to get to the ending spot unless you utilize those extra blocks to make a path yourself.

There are what I like to call team rocket spots. Remember in the original Pokemon Blue and Red when you went to Team Rockets gym and you had to step on the arrow spots that would shoot you to another space and you would kind of float around until you hit something that made you stop? Yup these arrow spots are just the same, step on it and you won't stop until something stops you, but be careful it can also just straight shoot you off of tiles too if there is nothing to stop you.

Now I have not gotten to this part of the game, but in the trailer, I also saw that there were rotation spots Spots that would rotate you.

There were a few lines you could follow, there was a straight line that went to the next map, while there were also tons of other branches you could take to progress.

I wonder if there are even more spots than those as well. You would have to go find out for yourself.

Thoughts

I enjoyed this game until I got frustrated by a puzzle that I just couldn't figure out. I did end up rage-quitting. I think there might have been a hint button, there was an undo button which was really nice as you could just go back a few moves.
