Isekai:Slow Life - Casual Game Review

Game description

Isekai: Slow Life is a mobile relationship/adventure game. You get reborn as a mushroom of all things and have to convince these cat and dog type girls that you are cool and you will help them develop their village and please don't eat me. They decide to try you out on the farm to make money. You pretty much tap the screen violently to earn cash. Then send you out on an adventure, and you eventually fix the inn you broke with your fall. Yes, you fall into their inn smashing in, and why they want to eat you.

Mechanics

There is a wide range of things to do, and they all affect each other in some way shape, or form. Whether it is earning more cash for the homestead, or increasing your character both family and fellows that also boosts the homestead.

First, we'll talk about characters.

You have two different types, fellows and family.

Fellows

Fellows are pretty much your hired help, they are going to take care of your building by boosting them up and fighting for you, and you pretty much use them for power. Fellows come in a range of tiers from N, R, SR, SSR, and UR. These guys are acquired from leveling up your character.

There are many ways you level these guys up. One is with experience, which will increase their base level. Another way is with skill orbs which well improves their skill. Books can imporve their types of expertise. There are also scrolls that can imporve their skills. There are more things to unlock too, (that I don't have unlocked so pretty much there are tons of items to increase their skills)

You can use acquaint stones on SSR characters for more buffs. Also, you can improve their earnings in the building they are working at.

On top of that, you can also equip artifacts with various ways to improve those items as well. Each of those artifacts has its own tiers and items to level them. Each has a certain amount of slots that you can upgrade depending on the type of character (points are random) up to 25%. There could be 3,4, to 6 slots. (Maybe even more?)

Family

Family is what you cuddle at home. You can take them on dates, and travel with them. You pick them up by improving your bonds with them or completing certain tasks. They are used to boost your fellows and shops. They have similar tiers N, R, SR, and SSR.

There are a few ways to level up your family. When you go on dates or travel with them you gain a type of experience for them which you can level up of two skills a number-based and a percent-based. You can give them gifts that increase their intimacy or blessing. Which intimacy will unlock more of their skills. You will be able to then spend points to unlock higher percentages. The maximum percent is 25 I believe.  family

Village

Your village has a few things to do, tap on the farm to gain money, unlock and level your buildings. (Yes there is leveling for everything.) Once you get far enough you can also invite people to your inn restaurant. Each building you can task to one of your fellows, each building having its own type and each character having to match that type. Some of the characters also give certain places a boost. There is also a school where you can educate orphan kids that your family somehow always finds while they go on dates with you. While you educate them you earn experience for your fellows. you can later marry them off to earn the village more money.

Home

Home is where you can claim rewards, and check on your family or artifacts.

There are various events, like right now there is some kind of camping fun time that earns you items to up your blessing and intimacy with your family members. Before that was a wrestling match that provided more power to your fellows.

There is also a big story event going on right now that has to do with a huge tree, joining small teams that people join then go AFK and you can't kick them despite hosting the team... But you progress through a map with energy fighting 5 of each place bosses which running into things is completely random so good luck. To gain random rewards.

Stage

The stage is where you progress the story. As you travel it will cost you gold, but it will give you experience for your fellows and fame to level your character.

adventure

Drakenberg

This is the town. Once you get so far in the story you unlock this place and eventually more places inside it.

There is a lot to do here. Roaming is a way you can find and form bonds with soon-to-be family members, you can also gain fame for each roam and random items. Trading posts you can negotiate/fight other characters and level a shop that gives you coins over a certain amount of time. Banquet Whenever you get a new family member you'll throw a party for them, others will join in that party and you can join others' parties as well. Hall of Fame you can worship the big dogs for rewards and that is also what you do in the leaderboards. Challenge is where you progress a tower of fighting with your fellows to each reward. Guild, you can join others to complete tasks together to gain rewards. Golemore Mine you fight rocks to get rewards, Bazzar, you can host shops with others to gain scrolls to level that skill in your fellows.

Most of these also have their own currency and shop to use that currency. Having items to deal with your fellows, and family or just general energy for items like roaming, education, or serving more people at the restaurant.

Thoughts

Pretty much in Isekai: Slow Life if you do all the random things and keep leveling everything you'll be good. I mean that is what I have gotten out of it. I've been playing it the last week as I've been healing from my wisdom teeth getting done. It was good to pass the time and today was the first day I talked in general chat and the community was welcoming and lovely in the server that I'm playing it. I'm not sure how long I'll play it, It hasn't been super grindy for me it feels like progression still after playing it for a week. I know some mobile games will feel like after a day you aren't making much progress. I could play this one for hours and still have something to do. The art is really cute but as a warning, it's a little mature. I also did not spend any money on the game, so it can be played for free. While of course, it's similar to a play-to-be-first kind of game.
