Casual game review and overview - Scrapnaut

When I was looking at games I saw this one and I was like well it looks like a top-down survival I like Scrap Mechanic this says scrap I bet you have to build things with scrap let's try this.

So it starts off with you crash land and just on your ship you have enough oxygen so you you have to watch your meter so it doesn't go down. This isn't too bad because the first thing you do is go talk to a robot and repair the oxygenator for the area.

This leads to being given an area that you can build in and various missions to improve the area to survive. The awesome thing is there is a teleporter right by your base which you just have to mine a red crystal which they conveniently put right next to it. This lets you go from anywhere on the map to this point. I have found there are a few other teleports around as well which makes it nice to navigate around this rather large map.

Now of course, as you wander around the map there are various little scrap bots that want to chase and shoot at you. There are I believe 3 different kinds of bots I have run into so far. Now to attack I think is weird. You have to engage in combat mode by pressing F. This will bring up your shield and set you in an attack stance. Then you can swing your weapon. If you get hit it does not automatically start this mode and when you are in the mode you move super slow. So what I found to do is run up on a bot and press F so that I'm close enough to hit it. By doing that the bot still has to take some time to see you to then it starts to attack. Of course, you can still argo these bots to you.

Not only do bots drop scrap material it's just randomly littering the world. There are nodes of iron, gold, and other various materials around as well.

Building a base is pretty simple, you need a crafting bench so you can make planks to build a basic wooden tent, floors, and walls. I guess in this game no one needs a roof.

You can farm, make turrets, and do other crafting tables to do better weapons, tools, armor, and even make potions.

Just listen to The Robot Rusty he'll tell you what to do. The poor thing can't move because his legs are broken... I hope later in the game we can fix him...

In general, I really liked this game, the only thing that is hard to adapt to is the fighting system. You also have to go into the mode to break pots which is kind of weird. HYAH!
