Voxile Review: A Voxel-Based Wild Ride Through a Mutated World Setting the Scene: A World Built in Voxels and Mutations When looking for crafting and building games on Steam, you might miss this voxel adventure game. Voxile is a quest, craft, loot, build, destroy, and shoot. Where you try to shoot something and accidentally destroy it, but we'll talk about that later. In this Voxile game review, you will learn about this post-apocalyptic voxel game. You might be wondering what a voxel is. Well, as you know, there are pixelated games, which are 2D. A voxel is the 3D version. So think of it along the lines of indie games like Minecraft.   Voxile was published and developed by VoxRay Games, Inc. The game was released on March 10th of this year.  Loot, Build, Repeat: Progression in Voxile When I came into this open-world voxel shooter, it wasn't what I expected. I was thinking it was going to be some kind of sandbox crafting game. I ended up clic...

Uno All Wilds Review: Is This the Craziest Uno Yet?

Image
Uno All Wilds Review: Is This the Craziest Uno Yet? UNO except every card is a Wild card. Uno All Wilds is an intense party game for between 2 and 10 players. The average rounds can last between 15 and 30 minutes. Age suggestions are 7 plus, while the BGG (Board Game Geek) community puts it at a 6 plus rating. Mattel published Uno All Wilds, while Nick Hayes was the one who designed it. So, how does this stack up against other Uno games? How to Play Uno Wilds We are so used the the original, having different colors, and numbers on each of the cards, with a few wilds thrown in. Well, let's get into how to play Uno All Wilds, when all the cards are wilds in this family card game. You start off the same as any other game, every player gets 7 cards. If someone gets down to one card, they must say uno before the next person plays/draws a card. If they do not say it in time, they have to draw two cards. Now, if the next person only has one card, you can draw to see if...

Just One Board Game Review – A Fun Word Game for Groups and Families

Just One Board Game Review – A Fun Word Game for Groups and Families Just One Back Story Recently, I went to an event for my son's school. Their Jazz band and GLVPAA students play at this event. It's a ticketed event, where you get food, dessert, and drinks, and listen to the music. There are raffles for prizes, and to make a long story short, we won a pack with a lovely blanket and some tabletop games.  On a side note, I was dying laughing at the band teachers. One was playing the piano to accompany the solo student, as the other was turning the pages for him. It was adorable and hilarious at the same time.  What is Just One? With that out of the way, Just One is a 3 to 7-player game where you really have to think outside of the box, but not too outside the box. Its age range is for ages 8+. It has two designers, Ludovic Roudy and Bruno Sautter. Two artists, Éric Azagury and Florian Poullet. Just One also won the Spiel des Jahres award! Everyone get...

Is Dinkum Worth Playing? Impressions from Steam’s Free Weekend

Image
Dinkum Gameplay Review: Relaxing Vibes and Crocodile Chases I can't remember when, but sometime within the last month, there was a free weekend for this game, and I managed to actually pay attention to it and play it for a few days.  Go me for paying attention to the ad carousel. So I wanted to share my thoughts on this Animal Crossing-like survival simulator.  Dinkum is a multiplayer, build a life, explore, and really another game like Animal Crossing. It just falls into that genre pretty well. It was developed by James Bendon and published by KRAFTON, Inc. The game came out in July of 2022 and seems to have some regular updates in the new hubs portion of the landing page on Steam, between patch notes and bug fixes. Steam's free weekend of the game really helped me test it out to see if I really liked it or not. Dinkum is now fully released now in 2025. So, stay and read this Dinkum game review. Dinkum Gameplay Overview The story starts off at a depressing place where no one ...

Making Waves: My Take on Critter Cove

Image
Critter Cove This lovely game came out in September of last year. Developed and published by Gentleman Rat Studios. It's described as an open world, town-building, life sim. Critter Cove is set in some kind of post-apocalyptic world, where animals and people live, and for some reason keep getting shipwrecked on places. I would think the lore has to do with some kind of flooding, as there are many islands and sunken towns to explore. This game reminds me of what I would like Animal Crossing to be.  Gameplay As mentioned, it's a town-building sim. So the troupe of you wash up, found by a mayor of sorts that runs a shop where you can sell/buy things. The only difference is that he just gives you a house. (instead of sticking you in a mortgage) The character creation was the coolest thing ever, with so many options, and I think kid me would be very happy with the result. Of course, I needed cat ears, two tails, and also wings.  As you play, you can meet and inv...

Esteem: Little Wolf Saga – A Howl-Worthy Adventure or a Lost Pup?

Image
Esteem: The Little Wolf Saga This game reminds me of an old-school top-down, turn-based RPG. I mean, that is what it is, but still, ah the good old days. There is even the hit action addition to the fighting, but we'll go over that later.  Esteem came out on March 6th of 2025, developed by Ingami Studio. This is their only game. It was published by Dream Stories, who have published other games like Valledi a side-scroller game about a girl and her little drone, Envyus, a top-down RPG game, and quite a few others. Esteem is listed as $9.99 on the Steam store.  I also would like to thank the devs, who gave me the key through a program called Keymailer.  The game Esteem is about a little wolf named Laisa. I had no clue on how to pronounce her name, so in my frustrations I just called her lady. She woke up late, and while exploring, I somehow managed to make her go back to bed. You have to help someone pick plants from a garden and then go on to meet with ...

Smoking is bad for you, m'kay? Tobacco Shop Simulator: Prologue

Image
Tobacco Shop Simulator: Prologue (edited 3/31/2025) Tobacco Shop Simulator is just what you think it is: a shop where you sell Tobacco products and accessories. The game came out on November 1st, 2024, and you can play this prologue for free. The great thing about it is that you don't have to hire employees when you can just invite a friend to play with you. This game can be played by up to 4 players. It was developed and published by Buiness Tycoon. Business Tycoon also makes Retail Company Simulator. Both games are normally $11.99 but are on sale until March 13th, 2025.  Shout out to the devs for suggesting the key through a program called Keymailer. I mean, it's free, but still, I wouldn't have known about it if it hadn't been on Keymailer.  Game play Like most simulator shop games, you have to first set up your shop name and buy stock to fill up your store. This one runs on a buy-a-brand system. So you start off with it making you buy Warblo, and...
